In a dark winter of the Cold War, between 1949 and 1950, Stalin, the cruel leader of the Soviet Union, had in his possession two extraordinary weapons: long-range missiles and the atomic bomb. Although those condemned to forced labor managed to build a missile capable of creating an atomic explosion, Stalin was threatened by the United States and its Strategic Air Command. He knew that he needed another weapon to outstrip the United States and ensure the superiority and security of the Soviet Union. And then came the chance discovery of an unknown material, Element 99, on a remote island off the Kamchatka Peninsula.
Element 99 (E99) became Stalin's new hope: an energy source of incomparable power. Unfortunately, such material also posed a significant contamination risk. Stalin decided to take the risk: anything for the progress of the Soviet people.
On September 21, 1950, Barisov, the Russian scientist in charge of completing the project, violated all security protocols and personally activated an E99 device, causing a catastrophe that affected the entire island. It is not very well known what happened next, although some reports say that, on his deathbed, Stalin wrote that Katorga 12 should go into quarantine.
All information about the island was kept secret ... until 2010, when Western intelligence reports confirmed activity on a remote atoll in the Russian Federation. Katorga 12 fell into oblivion. Nobody knows what this island off the southeastern coast of Russia can host. The world cannot afford a new Chernobyl, or an even worse catastrophe. The United States responded by sending a secret flight: you have to recognize the area without wasting a second.

In Singularity, you will have to make your way through an ever-changing environment, haunted by creatures from bygone times.
